Kids love trucks, and we have a month full of opportunities to see, learn about, and touch-a-truck! Check out these fun October events in Milford, Highland, Commerce, and White Lake.

White Lake Library: Fire Safety Education with WLFD
These Captain Steve Hanneman from the White Lake Fire Department will be at the White Lake Library to talk about Fire Safety. Registration required.

Commerce Fire Department: Open House
Head over to Commerce Township fire station #4 for their annual fire department open house. Meet your favorite fire fighter. Tour the fire station and learn valuable fire safety information. Family fire safety information provided and much more! Parking in the first softball field lot east of the fire station.
There's lots of fun for the family at this event, including: Firetruck rides, apparatus viewing, demonstrations, bounce house, fire dogs barking, smokehouse, hotdogs, and the chance to spray a fire hose!

Highland Twp Fire Dept: Annual Pancake Breakfast
Meet local heros, enjoy some breakfast, and explore the station! Special appearance by Sparky the fire dog. Proceeds benefit the Highland Township Goodfellows.

Milford Fire Department Open House
Stop by the Milford Fire's Annual Fall Open House and meet your local firefighters, see the station and all of the trucks. Popcorn, hot dogs, cider and doughnuts provided. Spray the fire hoses, try on some gear, free blood pressure checks, demos on forcible entry and automobile extrication as well as info on CPR and First Aid training.

Huron Valley Rec: Trick or Trucks
Celebrate Halloween with Huron Valley Recreation and Community Education. Not only will kids get the experience of trick or treating, but they will also get to see the area's biggest trucks. Possible trucks will include a dump truck, fire engine, bulldozer, and much more! All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Event will proceed rain or shine. We have two time slots where we won't have horns or sirens going, in case you have a child that is scared or startled with the loud noises. You will register by your arrival time. You are welcome to stay longer than your 30 minute time slot, but we will be wrapping up by 7:15/7:30 p.m. so please plan accordingly.
