Have you checked it out?

Skull Island Camp

Skull Island is situated on Pontiac Lake in White Lake Twp. It can´t be reached by car, but traveling there by boat, kayak, or canoe is something the staff at Skull Island can accommodate. Skull Island is not just any camp, during the summer months it is home to a day camp for kids ages 5-13, a first camp counselor job for local teens, and a family-owned and run business. Skull Island also has a cottage they rent by the night called ¨Blackbeards Hideway¨. In the fall, Skull Island hosts a Halloween-themed event called ¨Haunted Halloweekends¨ and it´s open most weekends in the fall.

If you are interested in checking out Skull Island, they have an annual event in July, It's their 9th annual Rockstar Weekend Charity Fundraiser happening on July 16th and 17th, and this year the proceeds are benefiting Great Lakes Burn Camp. The fun starts on Saturday the 16th when the weekend kicks off at 4 pm with ¨School of Rock¨ opening on the south side of Skull Island. This is an adults-only (21+) evening with tropical drinks and beer, and yummy island grill food available for purchase. There will also be 3 tiki bars serving libations ($3-$5) all evening long. At 7:30 the band ROCKSTAR will perform! You do not want to miss this!

If you get hungry later in the night, Skull Island will be providing a late-night taco/nacho and pizza buffet from 10 pm to midnight.

On Sunday you can come back, and bring the kids! At noon the waterslides and floating waterpark will be open, and at 2:30 you can take your kids to their first ¨real concert¨, ROCKSTAR performs again! There will be local businesses showcasing their food and other products that will be available for purchase with a portion of their proceeds going to Great Lakes Burn Camp, so be sure to support our local businesses during this event.

My favorite part is each year 100% of proceeds from Skull Islands' annual fundraiser go to a variety of organizations supporting children with life-threatening conditions

This is the event of the summer, and it is for an excellent cause, don´t miss out!
