Why is your company right for you?

After spending 8 years in the classroom and earning my Masters in Literacy, I am passionate about books. When my 3rd son was born, I decided to leave teaching and stay at home. Usborne allows me to share my love of books and supplement our family income with a flexible schedule.

What are the best perks to your job?

My favorite perks are:
- Setting my own schedule- Usborne has NO monthly sales minimums, so you
can work as much or as little as you choose
- Earning 25% commission
- Working with an amazing team (We are a highly collaborative organization)
- Earning free books for my own kids
- Achieving success on my own and having an identity outside of family life

What is the biggest challenge of your job?

Learning to balance my time wisely between family and work has been an ongoing learning process.

Why is your job worth your time?

My job brings me joy and has helped me learn a lot of about myself personally and professionally. I have developed meaningful relationships with new friends and am able to earn money sharing my passion for books with others.

What is the buy-in?

We have 2 business kits. Our kits will change on July 1st and currently our small kit is $75 and contains 10 books. Our large kit is $125 and contains 20 books.

What do you pay out of pocket every month?

This will look very different for each consultant. Personally, I mail a catalog packet to my hostesses which is only around $3ea in cost total. I will occasionally pay for a booth as well.

Does your income come from your sales or the sales of the people who you recruited for your team?
As a consultant starting out, you earn 25% commission on everything you sell and can earn an additional 4% if you sell $1,000 in a month. Once you promote to team leader, you will earn 33.5% percentage of personal sales as well as a percentage of team sales.

What's your favorite product in the line that you recommend?

Shine a Light flashlight books.

What does your income supplement?

Projects around the house and money for expenses with our 3 children.

What would it take for you to earn an average, full-time income with your business? $40,000, for example?

Actively working your business to host around 8 events a month and inviting 4-6 friends to join you and do the same.
